Come and meet Tim from Jam Bus in the park for an awesome rhythmic time. You will learn the basics of west African drumming and build your skills up to create an incredible performance by the end of the session. All talents and experience welcome from beginner right up to Djembe Fola. Drums are provided.
A djembe is a rope-tuned skin-covered goblet drum played with bare hands, originally from West Africa.
These sessions are delivered by Tim Spoerer who is the head of music at Ecclesbourne Primary School in Thornton Heath. With the help of friend and international pop star Ed Sheeran, Tim bought an old London Bendy-Bus and with generous funding from the Pegasus Academy Trust, it was kitted out to be an incredible Music Education Space as a permanent musical feature at the school.
Location:
The workshop space is located outside Life Café which is on the left after you enter the park from the Thicket Road entrance, opposite the Information Centre.
